"The rabbit who never gets lonely."
Nuit was born on the thinnest night of the moon — a small black rabbit the colour of the space between stars. A faint crescent rests on one cheek, the only light Nuit ever asks for.
They keep to themselves. They read until the tea goes cold, watch the sky from the windowsill, and tell anyone who asks that they prefer the quiet. Mostly, that's true.
But leave a chair beside theirs and they won't move it away. Stay a little while, and you might catch the smallest softening at the corner of those half-closed eyes. They'd never admit it — yet they remember everyone who stayed.
